In 2012, I created my first ice cream based blog.
As you can see I abandoned it about a year later but I thought, what the heck, I'll give it another try. There are two food-based blog/review and preview sites which I love - The Impulsive Buy and On Second Scoop - I check both a few times weekly. In no way is this blog reboot an attempt to match or mirror them but simply to exist beside them. The fact that both are revenue-generating is in itself a testament to their creators. I simply thought it might be a fun way for me to talk about ice cream and seek out new and interesting flavors. If you're here, I hope you're enjoying it.

Why 200 Lids?

Well, it's a long story. In May of 2002, I saw Jerry Greenfield speak. I told him that I had just enjoyed a B&J flavor named "Raspberry Gone Coconuts" and he told me he's glad I liked it because it was going to be discontinued. A few days later I went to Safeway and bought a few intruguing B&J pints just in case THEY became obsolete. There must have been something not just in trying those flavors but in somehow collecting them or at least chronicling them. I kept the lids and at some point, made it my mission to try EVERY Ben and Jerry's flavor. Since that event more than 21+ years ago I've spent hours trying to track down, sample and get the lids of every commercially available pint including some that happened to be available via kismet where I was such as "Texas Bourbon" when I was in TX and "Phish Ice" when I was in NYC.
